1. Scope and our role
AutoPlug.us is designed as an online vehicle advertising, discovery and lead-generation platform. This policy applies to information processed through AutoPlug websites, account experiences, listing tools, buyer inquiry forms and related platform services.
This policy covers AutoPlug's handling of information. Services reached through AutoPlug, such as a vehicle-history, identity-verification, valuation, payment, financing or dealership partner service, may have their own privacy practices when they collect information directly.
2. Information we collect
The information AutoPlug processes depends on how you use the platform.
- Account and profile information, such as name, email address, mobile number, city, state, account preferences and verification status.
- Vehicle and listing information, such as VIN, year, make, model, trim, mileage, price, vehicle description, colors, features, seller-provided condition information and uploaded photos.
- Buyer and lead information, such as contact details, ZIP code, vehicle interest, availability requests and financing-request information you choose to submit.
- Seller verification information. AutoPlug is designed to store verification results or status from a secure identity provider rather than raw government-ID images in ordinary listing records.
- Activity and preference information, such as Saved Cars, recently viewed vehicles, privacy choices, listing engagement and notification preferences.
- Technical information that may be provided by browsers or hosting/security services, such as device and browser characteristics, IP-derived security signals, timestamps and diagnostic information.
- Consent and transaction records, such as the version of the Terms or Privacy Policy acknowledged, the date and time of acceptance, the form used and the contact method selected.
3. How we use information
AutoPlug uses information for legitimate platform and user-requested purposes, including:
- Creating and securing accounts; maintaining verification status; and providing My AutoPlug features.
- Creating, reviewing, publishing, managing and measuring vehicle listings.
- Responding to buyer requests and connecting interested buyers with the seller of a vehicle.
- Routing financing or other partner requests only when the user takes the relevant action and provides the required consent.
- Preventing spam, abuse, duplicate or fraudulent activity and enforcing platform rules.
- Providing support, service communications and user-selected notifications.
- Understanding site performance and marketing attribution when the user has allowed the applicable optional technologies.
- Complying with law, responding to valid legal process and protecting users, AutoPlug and the public.
4. When information may be disclosed
AutoPlug does not need to make private account information public in order to publish a vehicle listing. Public listings are designed to show vehicle and seller-facing listing information, while private account and verification records remain separate.
Information may be disclosed to the parties and service providers necessary to perform a service you request.
- Sellers may receive contact and inquiry information when a buyer submits a request about that seller's vehicle.
- Participating dealership or financing partners may receive a financing or related lead when you expressly request partner options and consent to the disclosure.
- Service providers may process information on AutoPlug's behalf for hosting and security, authentication, database and secure file storage, transactional email, fraud prevention and customer support. AutoPlug currently uses Supabase for authentication and platform data services and Resend for transactional email delivery.
- Information may be disclosed when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights and safety, investigate fraud, or support a merger, acquisition or other business transaction subject to appropriate protections.
5. Cookies, browser storage and tracking
AutoPlug uses essential browser storage for functions such as privacy preferences, device-local Saved Cars and other core experiences. Optional analytics and marketing categories are controlled through the AutoPlug Privacy Center and are intended to remain off unless you allow them.

6. Data retention and security
AutoPlug retains personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the requested service, maintain legitimate business and consent records, resolve disputes, prevent abuse and satisfy legal obligations. Retention varies by record type; account information is generally kept while the account is active, and inquiry, support and consent records may be kept afterward when reasonably necessary for those purposes.
AutoPlug is designed around data minimization, access controls and server-side handling of credentials and provider secrets. No Internet service can guarantee absolute security, so users should also protect their account credentials and report suspicious activity promptly.
7. Your privacy choices and rights
You can control optional analytics and marketing preferences through Privacy Choices. Account holders can update available profile and notification preferences through My AutoPlug.
Depending on where you live and which privacy law applies to AutoPlug, you may have rights to request access to or correction or deletion of certain personal information, receive information about how it is used or disclosed, and opt out of certain sales, sharing or targeted advertising. AutoPlug will not discriminate against users for exercising applicable privacy rights.
Where required, AutoPlug will verify privacy requests before acting on them and will honor legally recognized browser-based opt-out signals when applicable technologies are in use.
8. Children
AutoPlug is intended for adults participating in vehicle shopping, selling and related services. AutoPlug does not knowingly design the service to collect personal information from children under 13. Seller accounts and paid listing services are intended for users who can enter into a binding agreement.
9. Changes and contact
AutoPlug may update this Privacy Policy as the platform, providers and legal requirements evolve. The Last Updated date will be changed when the policy is revised.
